Tayo’s Top 5 Games of 2011
2011 saw the release of some major titles that stole the spotlight from games that I believe are much better. Sure, some of my picks are also major titles, but all of these games were sleeper hits that had to take a back to seat to such games as Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3. Here are my favorites for 2011.

Tetris Tournament Results
This was our third time hosting a tournament at a Geek Out and it was more than welcome! We would like to really thank everyone who participated in the tournament. A special thank you to Cecily and Tombstone for helping supply the hardware we needed! Below are the results in a bracket. We played several rounds of 3 or 4 players until there were only 2. Everyone had to loose 2 in order to be complete knocked out of the bracket. In the end The Jimmy, yes the one and only DK Jimmy, kicked ass and only lost once. Then

My Life as an E3 Journalist: Armchair Edition — Day Two
The final press conference of E3 2011 featured Nintendo hyping up past successes, highlighting upcoming games for the 3DS and, most importantly, unveiling the system formerly known as “Project Cafe” — the Wii U. More specifically, the Wii U controller. The controller features dual-analog sticks, a d-pad, a/b/x/y buttons, L/R bumpers, and L/R triggers. Oh, and it has a 5” touch screen that appears to be in HD. The controller is capable of streaming games from the Wii U console onto it’s screen, allowing people to play the system while the TV is still in use. Graphically, the Wii U

My Life as an E3 Journalist: Armchair Edition – Day One
John Riccitiello lying to the audience about not using celebrities to promote games. A controller failure during a gameplay demo. Jack Tretton cracking jokes much too soon. Yes, it’s that time of year again — E3 2011! In all seriousness, this years conference is actually fairly professional despite some of the aforementioned events. There have been some good-looking games revealed and, of course, some not-so-good-looking games have been unveiled that the publishers are trying their best to demonstrate why these games should exist (Just Dance 3, Raving Rabids on the Kinect, most of the bullshit on the Playstation Move/Kinect, etc.).

Balls Deep in LEGOs
A friend of mine posted the following video on Facebook with the comment “I’m going to go ahead and guess that whoever built this has studied engineering.” Um, I believe that may be an understatment. I thought Switch liked LEGOs….
Kama Kama Kama (Sutra) Chameleon
One’s initial reading of the Kama Sutra (the real Kama Sutra, not those New Age knock-offs) is bound to disappoint. Anyone expecting to be inducted into the ancient secrets of sex gods or chapter titles that sound like the teasers on the cover of Cosmo will be sorely disappointed. Essentially this work is a shitload of lists with occasional commentary. For instance, listed within are the 64 arts that should be studied in addition to the arts of love. The usual artsy stuff is in there, but there’s also some more unusual items, such as: – “The art of making beds”

Unlocked: My Life as an Achievement Whore #1, J. Scott Campbell Variant – Leisure Suits and Lechery
My first experience with Leisure Suit Larry came when I was around 13-years-old. See, a friend of mine had an old Tandy computer complete with an extensive adventure game library. He wasn’t much interested in these games, but I became addicted to the quirky stories and fun puzzles found in games like Kings Quest and Space Quest. Despite my friend’s disdain for these games that required him to read, we would still sink hours playing these games during sleep overs because I actually knew how to solve the puzzles. One day, I received a phone call from my friend

Putting Your Money Where Your Cock Is
When I read the article about a Saudi man purchasing an 18K-gold, jewel-encrusted penis enlarger, I was very amused. First of all, the headline alone is worthy of our old college paper. Then there’s the fact that the company making it insists on calling it “a U.S. government certified medical device” (let alone that the co-owner’s last name is “Oh”). Then there’s the titillating details about it being transported by armored car and that the choice to make it out of gold is due to an allergy to stainless steel. I suppose the diamonds are meant to magnify the sorrowful

Hitchhiker’s Guide to Normal: Review of “Sucker Punch”
Hitchhikers Guide to Normal Sucker Punch Quick intro. You don’t know me, and that’s ok. Well, you do but you don’t know it. I am the one that is doing all the marketing and social networking, the researching (and correcting) of facts on the show. I’m “The Girlfriend.” I am just a normal movie goer and here is my opinion. For weeks, I’ve been looking forward to the release of Zack Snyder’s newest action/fantasy flick “Sucker Punch.” Oooooooo … I am not one of those people who follow directors or writers necessarily, but Snyder has directed two of my

OMFG Switch cheated with another podcast!
It’s ok, baby! You know I love you! That other podcast doesn’t mean anything to me! The truth is, I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in our relationship that I HAD to do what I did! I want to show the world what they’re missing when we share such intimate moments, so — you see — I really did it for us! I feel so much closer to you now than I ever have, and I feel like I appreciate you on a whole new level! In fact, I think you’d really like that other show, and I
