Just to follow up on the topic of professional gaming:
One league I forgot to mention is the Evo Championship Series. It’s the biggest fighting game tournament in the world, and has recently broken records for online viewership (EVO2K11 was held last week and had over 2 million views on Ustream).
Also, that Angel guy that ran the CPL and CAL sold the company to some private investors in 2008. CAL folded but the CPL is still around and kickin’. I have a feeling the FRAG documentary painted Angel and the CPL as being much worse than they actually are, but so far I haven’t found proof either way.
