I was just about to ask where Zeus went too haha. Glad to hear you back on the show again XD.
Don’t you think it about time to update Ceres’s About Me entry? She’s been made for a while now.
well done Switch
Although I agree that it should not be an issue, I think it’s a little premature to say it is not an issue. Let’s face it–there’s still plenty of asshats marketing, making and playing games that there probably needs to be a little more discussion about gender in video games. For instance, what message is sent when you have games like Science Papa and Cooking Mama? The ENTIRE catalog of the “Imagine” series is marketed toward girls. And while a few are empowering (such as Journalist or Detective), most re-enforce stereotypical roles. Furthermore, what do these games say to the young boy that wants to be a figure skater or a stay-at-home dad?
Some male players of MMORPGs will portray themselves as female players in order to get free goodies/assistance from misguided male players. While I find such blatant manipulation to be distasteful (regardless of misrepresenting one’s gender), I think this wouldn’t be as much of an issue if women held true equality in gaming culture.
