So I nearly caused an international incident Sunday when I was a guest on episode 10 of Big Red Potion, a podcast hosted by Very British Gamer columnist Sinan Kubba, to talk about the World of Warcraft.
Having never played WoW, I was the inexperienced counterpoint to another british fellow by the name of “Dits” from the Cranky Gamers UK podcast who’s played MMORPG’s for as long as I’ve been ignoring them.
And so, with cannon to right of me, cannon to the left of me, cannon in front of me, volley’d and thunder’d, I defended my position on the World of Warcraft by doing what any good sarcastic gaming podcast personality would … by invoking Godwin’s Law and comparing Blizzard’s reign of tyranny to Nazi Germany.
When all was said and done, we verbally shook hands and parted ways; the BRP listeners, as always, the true victors of this battle.
Big thanks to Sinan and Joe for having me on the show, and another big thanks to Dits for being kind of awesome. Coming from a site like “Cranky Gamers,” Dits strikes me as the kind of chap that really “gets” what we’re doing over here at DK. Funny, that.
How’s that hate mail coming along? Heh, was a pleasure Sir Switch, look forward to having you on the show again in the future (once that mail dies down of course).
You know … it’s not the hate mail that gets to me so much, it’s the messages from the Nazi sympathizers that are truly bothersome.
